Community Cyberinfrastructure for Advanced Microbial Ecology Research and Analysis
The CAMERA (Cyberinfrastructure for Advanced Marine Microbial Ecology Research and Analysis) community database for metagenomic data deposition is an important first step in developing methods for monitoring microbial communities.
In support of the University of California, San Diego to establish a community resource and intellectual center that will facilitate and create revolutionary knowledge advances in marine microbial ecology, the microbial ecology of other natural environments, and evolutionary biology. Outcomes for this grant include the construction of a central genomic and metagenomics data repository and a suite of tools for analysis and visualization that provides open, easy access to the international scientific community.
