Abstract

We describe a numerical approach to the equations of general relativistic hydrodynamics. A discussion of the development and use of our computer code to study axisymmetric accretion flows around black holes is featured. We outline the equations to be solved, the numerical techniques used, and our code calibration “testbed.” An illustrative accretion disk formation is presented.
