Abstract
High energy phenomena in astrophysics demand a compact, efficient central engine. The best candidate for this engine is a black hole accreting matter. We briefly review recent descriptions of such accretion flows with emphasis upon the role of numerical calculations in understanding these flows. Certain cases are illustrated using recent numerical computations.
